Dataset Available from the Galilee Society<\/a><\/p>\n

The Galilee Society, which is affiliated with the University of Haifa has access to large volumes of data related to the Palestinian population of Israel.<\/p>\n

They are interested in collaboration with the DRSC to leverage this data and to improve their data collection, analysis and understanding. They have a number of interesting problems related to the data itself, and are open to new avenues of research utilizing this data. For example, how to combine data from five socio-economic surveys, where most questions are the same but some evolved and also the people surveyed are not the same but there is data about their zip codes that are informative to some extent –  for comparing populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five editions of the Socio-Economic Survey<\/a> (latest version dated 2017)<\/p>\n

This project followed 1,890 Palestinian households from all over Israel, over a decade in five surveys. The main results are demographic, related to population, housing, labor, living standards, education, culture and media, health, environment, identity, religion, electoral participation and social capital.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

The Health and Environment Survey<\/a> (2015)<\/p>\n

Based on 2,250 Palestinian households all over Israel, this survey documents the occurrence of chronic illnesses, obesity, life expectancy, diet and smoking habits, physical activity, environmental hazards, accessibility to health services, awareness on environmental and health rights, injuries and accidents, people with disabilities and more.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

The Violence Survey<\/a> (2018)<\/p>\n

Based on a sample of 2,040 Palestinian households in Israel, this survey focuses on demographic, lifestyle, violence, the effects of violence on the population, and more.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
