Ethics

Research under the auspices of the Data Science Research Center should comply with the University of Haifa’s policies on ethics, privacy, and security.

Ethics. Any research that deals with human subjects is required to pass the Ethical Review Committee.

Specific questions on ethical matters may be addressed to the Head of the Ethics Committee in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Instructions for all researchers:

אוניברסיטת חיפה, ככל מוסד אקדמי מחקרי, מחוייבת על שמירת כללי אתיקה במחקר ועמידה בכללים הבינלאומיים ושל הגופים המממנים.

• כל מחקר בו מעורבים בני אדם לרבות נטילת חלק בראיון, מילוי שאלון, תצפיות, נטילת תרופה ועוד (ראו קובץ מצורף) מחייב אישור ועדת אתיקה.
• כל סטודנט וחוקר חייבים לעבור קורס הכשרה מקצועית במערכת CITI כתנאי לקבלת אישור אתי מהועדה: לינק
• באוניברסיטה קיימות ועדות פקולטתיות וועדה עליונה (כלל אוניברסיטאית). מחקרים מורכבים מופנים ע”י הועדה הפקולטתית לועדה העליונה.
• יש לדאוג שכל מחקר יקבל אישור ועדה טרם היציאה למחקר, לא ניתן לקבל אישור בדיעבד!

Security. Specific questions concerning security and the storage of sensitive material may be addressed to the Coordinator of Computing Resources at the Department of Information Systems.
